The second release of the Main Ridge Reserve Chardonnay. The Main Ridge block was purchased by the Ross family in 2021 and is medium density, with vines planted at 2.2m x 0.75m, at 6,060 vines per hectare. The 2022 Main Ridge Reserve Chardonnay was made up of Mendoza clone exclusively, which yields on average 50% less than the 95 clone chardonnay on the same block, despite being managed the same. No new oak or malolactic fermentation. 

Water white with a faint hint of green, the nose is vibrant and complex with flinty minerality, along with nettle, grapefruit and green apple sorbet. On the palate, there’s an array of savoury characters, including dried herbs and fennel, along with powerful citrus and very commanding acid. Very lively, the wine demands ageing and will age gracefully for the next 15 years.
