Our 1.4 acre Chardonnay vineyard at Portsea sits atop an old limestone quarry, and has limestone scattered throughout the soil profile. The wine was 100% fermented in oak, with 20% new and 40% malolactic fermentation. The vines were planted in the year 2000, equally to three clones; I10, 76 and P58. 

The 2021 Portsea Estate Chardonnay has an elegant, lifted and flinty nose with attractive grapefruit, apple and classy oak characters. Displaying wonderful purity, the palate has power that builds, driven by impressive acidity and complemented by lemon rind, citrus and subtle, smoky oak.
